The Admissions Department assists local school districts and parents with applications to attend the California School for the Deaf, Fremont. Applications are supplied upon request and the Admissions Staff works with the school district and parents to collect comprehensive information which is then summarized and presented to a multi-disciplinary team of staff. The staff review the information and determine if an appropriate assessment space is available to meet the educational needs of the applicant. The admissions department will register families and assist them in issues that may come up during assessment for placement. The admissions department also maintains ongoing communication with the local school district to provide updates about the applicant while being assessed.
The Admissions office is also responsible for student information management. Student data related to enrollment, demographics, academic schedules, progress, and achievement; testing is maintained by the coordinator of student information. Student related data is maintained on the school's local area network.
