New Teacher Mentoring Program

Learning Strategies Workshops:
Learning Strategies workshops are provided in regular intervals to teachers and counselors on a variety of topics including current research on learning disabilities or learning challenges. The K-8 Learning Strategies Teacher Specialist supplies teachers with support and ideas to accommodate students with learning differences. Topics of workshops provided this year include Learning Systems, Attention Factors, Learning Styles, Visual, Kinesthetic, and Tactile Lesson Ideas and Instructional Strategies. Contents in the learning strategies workshops are tailored to the needs of deaf students as visual learners and second language learners.

Teacher Consultation:
The Learning Strategies Teacher specialist works closely with teachers who have students with learning disabilities or learning challenges. She provides teachers with support and collaboration to ensure their students meet the California State Standards without any restrictions or barriers. Individual and class learning profiles are compiled and presented at the time of consultation.
