This site has information mostly on instructional positions and Student Life program positions at the California School for the Deaf.
The California Department of Education (CDE) is part of the state civil service system. As such, a majority of CDE positions are filled with persons who have successfully competed in a civil service examination and are eligible (i.e., reachable) on an employment list for a specific classification. The California Department of Education will accept applications on a continuous basis.
For other state positions, candidates must submit a state application to compete in any examination. An on-line state application is available from the State Personnel Board (Outside Source). This website also explains more about the process of obtaining a state job.
